| Jason Friend is an award winning, freelance photographer and writer based in the sunny north-east of England. Whenever he is not braving the British weather to capture images of the Scottish Borders, Cumbria, Yorkshire or Northumberland, he escapes to some of the worlds most exotic overseas destinations in search of the perfect travel image.
A self confessed lover of travel, his overseas forays have taken him to over 30 countries in the continents of North America, South America, Asia, Australasia, Europe and Africa. These trips have led to his images and text being featured in a number of worldwide magazines and books. In addition, Jason is also the author of three books: Photographing Wilderness , The Cumbria Way and Portrait of the Borders .
